About Me
Hi, I’m Bec, the founder of Roam Free Education and a qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience.
I created Roam Free Education to support families who are travelling around Australia or choosing to homeschool their children. As a mum of two, I understand the value of learning that fits naturally into family life, travel and real-world experiences.
My focus is on creating individualised learning plans and curriculum-aligned resources tailored to the unique learning needs of each child and family.
Throughout my teaching career, I specialised in mathematics and science, teaching students from Years 6 to 12 and often teaching multiple Year 12 subjects at the same time. During this time, I developed many programs that connected curriculum content to real-world experiences. I found that students were always more engaged when they could see the purpose and value in what they were learning.
My aim is to support travelling and homeschooling families to feel confident that their children are learning in a way that is meaningful, flexible, and achievable, no matter where the road takes them.
I understand that every child learns differently, and I have extensive experience working with students with a wide range of learning needs, strengths, and learning styles. Throughout my career, I have worked with many types of learners, including neurodiverse children, students who found traditional schooling challenging, and those who needed additional support with their wellbeing, confidence, and organisational skills alongside their learning.
Whether you are homeschooling full-time, learning on the road, or simply looking for extra structure and support, my goal is to take the stress out of planning so families can focus on learning, connection, and adventure.
